Apple’s iPhone Duo faces a global purchase cap of two units per customer

Apple’s China website shows that the iPhone Duo will go on sale on Oct. 23, with each customer limited to buying two units. Apple customer service said the restriction applies worldwide, though the company did not explain why. The China version is priced from 15,999 yuan to 26,499 yuan, and pre-orders opened on Oct. 16. According to Jiemian News, citing supply chain sources, the tight supply is tied to manufacturing challenges linked to the foldable-screen design. Those sources said mass-production yield is only 65%, daily output is limited to just a few hundred units, and the production ramp remains slow. They added that the complexity of hinge assembly and flexible display lamination makes it difficult to raise early-stage supply quickly.
